Hello, Longwood Families!
Below are a few important reminders for the week ahead:
SMILE!
Picture Day is Monday, September 11th. Classes will visit the photographers at their scheduled time on Monday.
Dismissal Update
Beginning Monday, September 11th, we will begin a typical dismissal process with students dismissing to after school clubs and using our dismissal "zones" for car and daycare riders. We appreciate your patience as our dismissal may take a few minutes longer this week for students and staff to get settled into this routine. Our goal continues to be safety and ensuring all students arrive at their correct location.
Benchmark Testing
K-5 Students did an incredible job with iReady testing this week! Students completed the reading portion of the diagnostic assessment and will complete the math test this week. Grade 1-5 students will have the opportunity to read with one of our reading specialists on Tuesday for the Oral Reading Fluency assessment. The results from these measures provide valuable information to guide our teachers' instructional planning for your child.
From Nurse Schander
We are very much in need of new or like new shorts and pants for the health office. We greatly appreciate your donations! New families and families of kindergarten students, please return your child's vision and health forms as soon as possible to avoid exclusion from school. These are due by October 15th.
Upcoming Author Visit:
We are excited to welcome author Karina Yan Glaser to Longwood on September 20th. Grades 3-5 will be attending her presentation. Any student can purchase a personalized copy of her books by using the form below. All orders must be done on PushCoin using the directions on top of this form. We do not accept cash or checks so please disregard that on the form. Please contact Donna Kouri at donna_kouri@ipsd.org with any questions.
Please continue reading for photo highlights of our week and additional reminders.
Have a wonderful weekend, Lions! Thank you for being a part of our Pride!
