Springfield Elementary School
Welcome Back!
I hope you and your family are having a relaxing summer filled with exciting memories. As a school community we are gearing up for the 2020-2021 school year and are eager to welcome you and your family back to our SES school community. Many of you will be in person and many will go virtual, but you are still part of the Springfield family. We have a few more weeks until school returns, but I want to share some information with you.
We are a school that is centered around the individual child. We will take the time to know each of our students and ensure that each child is being challenged and their individual needs are being met. SES is a school with the most dedicated and talented educators around, who truly care about our students. We are excited to have you join us this school year as we ensure the very best school experience for your child.
I want to thank and commend our summer office staff, day porter, and maintenance for their hard work and dedication over the warm summer months. We have tried to do everything we can to ensure a safe and welcoming return for all students.
Communication is the key to a successful school year. I aplogize for not sending more emails this summer, but things have changed so rapidly, that I didn't want to send out incorrect information. Be sure check our school web-site on a regular basis for updates, events, and school forms. Like in previous years I will periodically send home a principal’s update with any school announcements and happenings. I look forward to a wonderful year and working with you and your child.
Sincerely,
Adam Fantone
Principal

***LEAP Days-Are an extra 5 days mandated by the governor that were added to the beginning of our schedule. This puts elementary students at 185 days instead of 180. These days will be used to assess students to help get baseline data and it is an opportunity for staff to get to know the students and spend time with them.
September 28-First Day for All Students (No Longer A/B Schedule)
Elementary School Adjustment
• This will allow students time to acclimate to the new learning model and the new daily protocols.
• Elementary students will return to a full face-to-face Family Model beginning the fifth week of school.
• Students will eat breakfast and lunch in the classroom.
• Students will have recess and playgrounds will be cleaned after each use.
