Principal Ponderings: Treat Yo' Self
Back in 2010, while teaching 8th History, I showed my students Lin Manuel Miranda's original performance at the White House. It was a hit among teens then when it was just an idea for a unique rap album and it remains a hit nearly a decade later with the record-setting Broadway play, Hamilton. Approximately 2 years ago, MSU and Wharton announced that Hamilton will be on stage and I've been holding out, patiently waiting for tickets to go on sale, to combine two loves: East Lansing and US History. I told Angela that when they do we're going and in this particular instance, Treat Yo' Self mindset was in full effect. Sometimes we have to break up the status quo of how we normally operate and just Treat Yo" Self
What's the one thing that you would consider Treat Yo' Self worthy?

All Teachers:
- must turn in two SLO's (regardless if you were on the observation cycle this year)
- must complete the 1248 form (regardless if you are on the observation cycle this year - we will complete this together at the end-of-year meeting)
- will receive an evaluation score (regardless if you are on the observation cycle this year).
Teachers not on this Year's Observation Cycle:
- Your evaluation score will be based on last year's 5D+ score, plus the results of this year's two SLO's, *state assessment score, and the factors in the 1248 form .
Teachers on this Year's Observation Cycle:
- Your evaluation score will be based on this year's 5D+ score, plus the results of this year's two SLO's, state assessment score, and the factors in the 1248 form .
75% - Instructional Practice (5D+ observations)
25% - Student Growth (local assessments [two SLO's] and state assessment. The two SLO's are worth 12.5%, and the state assessment is worth 12.5%.
*State Assessment Score:
It was agreed upon by the district that all staff will receive a group attribution score using the Eidex data that takes into account student growth data over a three year period. Given the inconsistencies of state assessments at various grade levels, and certain subject areas not tested at all, this was determined to be the solution that would provide the most consistency to the process.
