BEN Bolt News
March Edition
Principal's Corner:
Dear Ben Bolt Families:
I hope you are well and looking forward to Spring which is right around the corner. March 1 we look forward to welcoming students and all staff who will be attending and teaching in OUR School. It will be such a pleasure to hear the buzz of the children and while we know they will be wearing masks, I know under those masks there will be smiling faces as they will be happy to see their peers and teachers live and in person. We welcome everyone back and please remember that school is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays, ALL students will be remote and staff will teach from home so the building can be sanitized and cleaned deeply.
It is hard to believe we are in the middle of the third marking period. Hopefully everyone has reviewed their second marking period report cards and are satisfied with their child/children's progress. As always, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher with any questions or concerns or better yet, it is parent teacher conference time so you can meet remotely with your teachers on Thursdays March 11 and 18 from 5:00- 6:30 pm and Tuesday March 16 from 2:00-3:30 pm.. More information will be distributed during the first week in March.
March Celebrations - During the month of March, we will be celebrating Women's History, Read Across America and Youth Art and Music Month. The Staff will be integrating this into their daily lesson to enhance their appreciation and curiosity about women, reading, the Arts. and Music
Lastly, I just want to thank all of our Ben Bolt Community, including our students and staff who have been so dedicated ,caring and professional during this time of remote and now Hybrid learning. We have shown by working together, providing communication and the sharing of ideas we can do anything. I am very proud of our entire community as we are, and will always forever be, “BEN FRANKLIN BOLTS” who continue to “LET OUR LIGHTNING SHINE”!
Please continue to stay safe, healthy and well. Make time to Smile, Laugh and Breathe!

Assistant Principal's Corner:
Dear BEN Bolt Community,
We are so excited to share wonderful updates from around our building. During the month of February we celebrated Ms. Kole, our School Counselor, and the amazing job that she does in our entire school community. Our Cultural Doll showcase and bulletin board are complete and we want to thank our students and parents for sharing their culture and heritage with us.
Our students celebrate the 100th day of school on February 18th. Ms. Conte's class shared some of their projects with us.
We are looking forward to our Pajama Jam coming up in March and our Family Game nights coming up in April. Please be on the lookout for more detailed information from your student's teacher and/or via blackboard and our school website.
A huge thank you to Ms. Cumello for putting together our first ever Virtual Talent show and for capturing the talent of 71 students, 2 staff members and Benny the Bolt. We want to thank every one who participated and for sharing their vocal, instrumental, and other creative gifts with our entire school community!
Even though we have not all been together in person, the Ben Franklin Bolts continue to let their lightening shine and we continue to #shinebrightEdison.
