Dear LP Families:

Thank you to all of the families who donated food items for our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon this week. What a treat! Some of the highlights included nutty brownies, chicken French, and the strawberry cheesecake pudding dessert. Wow, was that good! Our teachers and I appreciate the special recognition.

We had another beautiful concert this week. The third and fourth grade chorus and junior band rocked the house. Check out our twitter feed for a couple of pictures. Our students' dedication and talent really shined during the concert. We look forward to another concert - fifth grade chorus and senior band - next Thursday at EHS at 7:00. See you there!

Also, don't forget that tonight is the Sadie Hawkins dance here at LP. This is a PTA sponsored even, which would not be possible without the planning and organization of our dedication parent volunteers. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Parents of Fifth Graders - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Do you have a fifth grader?! Please think about helping coordinate and plan the fifth grade picnic. Not a planner? Then, would you mind helping with set up, supervision, and take down? If you can help us out with this LP tradition, please give the main office a call (or reply to the email), and we will connect you with the right person.

Grade 5 Middle School Transition Schedule

Box Tops for Education

Just a reminder, we are still collecting Box Tops for Education. Your child can bring them in and drop them off in the main lobby of school. The benefit to our school could be great - the PTA uses this money to buy things that support all students, like science club and Red Ribbon Week.

You might surprised to know that I am considered a "miracle baby" because I had spinal surgery and wasn't able to do anything active, but after a year I can do a backflip.

You might be surprised to know I had a pet turtle as a kid.

I would love to meet the Pope.

If I could go anywhere, I would go to Spain to participate in the 600 mile walk called the Camino de Santiago.

My favorite sports team is the New York Yankees.

I keep healthy by walking and teaching.

Last summer I coached my sons in very demanding baseball leagues, worked on home projects, and spent time with my people.

If I had a magic wand, I would use it to help people become what they hope to be.
