There is no charge for the workshop.


Participants receive a free copy of Bruce Lesh’s best selling book.


Teachers will engage in hands-on activities focused on connecting Literacy and Social Studies and the use of historical investigations to teach historical content.


The goals of this professional development workshop include:

= Increasing understanding of the research on historical thinking and historical literacy

= Developing a cadre of teacher leaders to share these strategies with other teachers in their school and district

= Providing teachers with a better understanding of the importance of integrating literacy skills, primary and secondary documents into their instructional practices

= Providing teachers with research-based best practices to engage all learners in the Social Studies classroom
