Board Accepts Retirement of Middle, Manor Principal & Director of Transportation

On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the Honeoye Falls-Lima Board of Education accepted the retirement letters of Middle School Principal, Shawn Williams, Manor School Principal, Jeanine Lupisella, and Director of Transportation and Safety and Security, Bill Harvey.

After 35 years in public education, HF-L Middle School Principal, Shawn Williams announced that he will retire at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Williams has served 16 years as the Principal of the Middle School.

“I am blessed to have been afforded the opportunity to serve our students and their families for the past 16 years. The HF-L community genuinely supports education and that is so appreciated,” said Williams. “Our Middle School is a positive place for students to learn because everyone works together for the benefit of students. I have worked with many fine people through the years. I would like to thank them all for their efforts, dedication, and support. I will always look back on my time at HF-L with pride and fondness. Go Cougars!”

Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo, his master’s degree in Art Education from Florida State University, and acquired his Administration degree from SUNY Brockport.

Williams began his career as a teacher in 1987 at the Batavia Central School District. From there, Williams was at separate times, the Assistant Principal as well as the Principal of the Middle School at Attica Central Schools. He has been HF-L’s Middle School Principal since 2006.

Also, after 35 years in public education, HF-L Manor School Principal, Jeanine Lupisella announced that she will retire at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Lupisella has served 25 years in the District.

“Through the years, I have had the opportunity to celebrate many accomplishments and work through challenges with amazing educators, keeping the focus on students. I am grateful to my students, colleagues, and community members who have been a part of my professional journey, learning and growing together every step of the way,” said Lupisella. “HF-L is a special place with so much to be proud of, especially our Manor and Lima teams and HF-L students.”

Lupisella earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Psychology and her master’s degree in Reading from SUNY Geneseo. She acquired her Administration degree from SUNY Oswego.

Lupisella began her career in education at the Dansville Central School District in 1987. She first came to HF-L in 1996 as a teacher and consultant until she was appointed the Lima Primary Principal in 2002 where she stayed until becoming the Manor Intermediate Principal in 2012.

After 38 years in the school bus industry, HF-L Director of Transportation and Safety and Security, Bill Harvey announced that he will retire at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Harvey has served a total of 11 years in HF-L.

“After 11 years of service to the HF-L school community, it is time for me to retire and focus on time with my family and grandchildren. I am honored to have had the opportunity to finish my pupil transportation career where it started, right here in HF-L,” said Harvey. “I began here on July 1, 1984, as a bus mechanic, and my dream was to be the Director of Transportation in HF-L. I have immensely enjoyed my time here and am very proud of the amazing work done every day here at the transportation department. It has been a privilege to lead this team!”

Harvey earned his associate degree in Agricultural Mechanics from SUNY Morrisville.

Harvey began his career in 1984 as a mechanic for the HF-L transportation department. From there, he went to Penfield Central Schools to become the Head Mechanic. Then for 14 years, Harvey served the Pittsford Central School District firstly as the Head Mechanic and then went on to become the Director of Transportation. In 2004, Harvey left public education to work in the private sector until triumphantly returning to HF-L in 2012 as the Director of Transportation and Safety and Security where he has maintained his post for the past 10 years.

“I want to offer my gratitude and sincere public appreciation to each of these dedicated professionals," said Superintendent Gene Mancuso. "Each of these individuals has played key roles in helping to educate the children of Honeoye Falls-Lima and each has continued to show professionalism and dedication to continuous improvement throughout their entire educational careers.”
