From the Counselor's Office
May is “Mental Health Awareness Month” and this month the SLJH counselors will be sharing information and tips on one area of mental health each week for our Spartan Community. This past year presented many different challenges and obstacles that tested our strength and resiliency. The global pandemic forced us to cope with situations we never even imagined, and a lot of us struggled with our mental health as a result. The good news is that there are tools and resources available that can support our well-being and help us navigate through these challenges.
This week our focus is on Test Anxiety and Study Skills. As students have had to transition in-and-out of virtual and asynchronous learning, we have heard from a number of students and parents that they are struggling with the challenges of a new type of learning environment. See the graphic below from https://wellpreppedu.wordpress.com/ to find some ideas for your student to face upcoming tests with confidence!
