Patriot Day Celebration

Monday Word Sorts

On Mondays your child will bring home a word sort. This will need to be completed at home. On Friday your child will be assessed on the word families listed on the sort, along with the sight words found at the top of their word sort sheet. Please help your child study these words and other words that follow that same pattern throughout this week. The word sort does not need to be turned in, it is a resource for you to use at home.

First Grade Volunteers

First grade is in need of a few volunteers for a big project on Wednesday September 16th. If you are available to help you can come up on Wednesday and check the first grade copy folder in the office for directions. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Calling ALL DOGS (Dads of Great Students)

We are hosting a Donuts with Dad breakfast September 15, 7:00-8:00 am. Bring the kids early for a donut and juice. We will send the students to class and discuss volunteer opportunities for our Watch D.O.G.S. THE CALENDAR will be up and ready for you to reserve a spot.

Destination Imagination

If your child likes mind-bending puzzles, performing skits and/or building things, he or she has the opportunity to participate in Destination Imagination, a unique extra-curricular program for Prosper ISD students. In DI, student teams solve open-ended challenges and present their solutions at a regional tournament. Teams that perform well may advance to state and global tournaments. Students learn to think on their feet, work together and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the challenges. To learn more about forming a DI team, please plan to attend our Destination Imagination Information Meeting on Thursday, September 17 at 7:15 pm at Cockrell Elementary in the cafeteria. For additional information about DI, please visit www.idodi.org. We need parent volunteers to help bring this program to Prosper ISD for our students. If you are interested, please plan on attending the meeting on September 17.

You may order goody bags to celebrate your child's birthday. You can purchase one for each child to be delivered to your child’s classroom on their birthday!! It’s a fun way to celebrate without worrying about sweets and food allergies.
