Cant wait to see you there!
Dear Park Village Families,
We have some exciting updates to share with you regarding our end-of-the-year events! After careful consideration, we have decided to merge our events into one and host a family dance on Thursday, May 25th, from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the MPR at school. Our student council has partnered with the foundation to put on this fun family event and fundraiser. All proceeds will go towards supporting our student council and, of course, our penguins! The students have chosen the theme "Dance through the Decades," and we cannot wait to see everyone's groovy moves on the dance floor. We will send out information soon on how to purchase your tickets, so keep an eye out for that!
In other news, we regret to inform you that we will not be having Penguin Rock this year. We have switched some of the vendors and activities from Penguin Rock to the dance to make it a fun end-of-the-year event for everyone. Our foundation members have been working tirelessly to coordinate all the events for our community, and we appreciate their dedication and hard work.
While Penguin Rock is a beloved event, it requires over 60 volunteers, and we do not have enough support to run a successful event this year. We are rebuilding our volunteer base and need your help! Please consider signing up to help for the remainder of the events this year. Our board is composed of dedicated parent volunteers who have worked extremely hard throughout the year to put on all the community events, but we need more consistent and dedicated volunteers to run successful events. We are already starting to work on the calendar of events for next year and it’s an exciting line-up, but please know these events cannot run without the help of our wonderful parents/caregivers, across all grade levels, and will be scaled back without the support.
We have some fantastic events coming up, including the Gatsby Gala on May 13th, Science Fair on May 18th, Picnic with Penguins & Ice Cream Social on May 19th, and the Student Council Dance Through the Decades on May 25th. We hope to see you there! Please note that these events are not possible without your generous donations, and we appreciate your support.
Lastly, we would like to invite you to join our next foundation meeting on May 17th, 2023, at 6:00pm in the library to learn more about what we do. If you have any questions, please reach out to Nikki Blackman at parkvillagefoundation@gmail.com.
Thank you for your continued support of our programs, and we hope to see you at our upcoming events!
Best regards,
Nikki Blackman
