Early Dismissals - Please Read

If parents/guardians are picking up students before 3:00 pm, please bring your identification to the door. Our office staff will be verifying identification for all students before we will call them out of class for dismissal.

Thank you for your cooperation!

October 3rd Staff Professional Development

On Monday, October 3rd, there will be no school for students due to the staff professional development day. SMS teachers will be meeting in the morning with the teachers from the grade levels above and below (vertical teaming) to align our district curriculum. The afternoon will be dedicated to meeting with their grade level department teachers from other buildings.

Afternoon Parent Pickup - Please Read

All parent pick ups during our afternoon dismissal must park in the lower high school student parking lot. With parents parking in our parking lot as well as along the access road behind the elementary playground, it has led to students crossing in front of arriving exiting vehicles. This creates a safety issue for our students.

Also, we ask that all afternoon dismissal parent pick-up parents arrive before our 3pm dismissal. Starting next week all vehicles that arrive after we dismiss students from the building will be stopped at the crosswalk and held until all buses are dismissed.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.

SMS Rocket Club

It is not too late to join the SMS Rocket Club! Please see the flyer/permission slip at the link below for more info or contact Mr. Laybourn at laybournth@foxc6.org with any questions.

High School Football Games - Middle School Students

Tonight is the big Fox vs. Seckman game 7pm at Fox High School! Just a reminder that all middle school students attending Seckman home or away games must be accompanied by an adult. Any unaccompanied middle school student will be sent home. Also, all school rules and regulations do apply for school sponsored events. Violation of these rules could result in school discipline.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Gaming Club

Join us every Thursday after school from 3:00 pm until 3:50 pm for SMS Gaming Club! Students will engage in Card/Board games that challenge their strategic skills. Games being played will include Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic, Chess, Pathfinders, Settlers of Catan and many others. There are NO electronic games allowed in Gaming Club. We want to teach kids to interact without their phones. Games teach students how to settle conflicts, how to take turns, how to have patience, and how to interact appropriately. No need to sign up beforehand, just show up and check in with Mrs. Wason and Mrs. Willard!

SMS Color Run

The SMS Color Run will be the afternoon of Friday, October 7th. Students will receive their packet of color that day. Also, those who raised over $50 will receive their SMS Color Run T-shirts before the event. More specifics will be communicated out in the next few weeks on other incentive levels including the VIP Lunch Field Trip.

While the opportunity to donate and qualify for the incentives has passed, any student who would still like to participate in the Color Run during the day on the October 7th can still donate $30 until the day before the run and join in the fun! Follow the link below to sign up.

Delivered Lunches

Our office has been overwhelmed with outside delivery of lunches to students (Door Dash, Postmates, etc). We ask that to please not have outside food delivered to the school. This puts a strain on our already busy office staff.

Thank you for your cooperation with this.
