8th Grade Field Trip to Main Event
It is nearing the end of our 8th grade year and we are preparing for our annual 8th grade field trip to Main Event in Grapevine. The field trip will be Friday, May 20, 2016 following our awards ceremony. This is not to be confused with the 8th Grade Celebration the PTA sponsors.

The Math and Science Team consisting of eleven students made us all proud by their competitive spirit and hard work at state this weekend.
Competitors: Quinn Arnett, Grayson Bush, Sarah Rashdan, Mardhi Santosa, Tari Santosa, John-Michael Slezak, Colin Wei, Carson Feldman, Grant Ghormley, Mitchel Miners, Jennifer Yan.

NJHS News!
The application forms for eligible 7th grade students to join NJHS were given out on Thursday and Friday this week. The completed forms and $20 are due back by Friday, May 6th to Carol Ruckle in the front office. The forms contain information on the Induction Ceremony in May and requirements for being a NJHS member.
Eligibility: Student's grades were averaged from their core subjects only and their average must be 90% for 6th grade, 7th grade 1st semester and 7th grade 3rd Nine Weeks. Students must also have good citizenship.

Counseling Update April 25 – April 29, 2016
SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES
Before a student can register for summer school, the student must meet with a counselor. There is a form that the student will need to turn into the counseling office. All forms are due by Thursday, May 26th. Students will then be able to register online the next day.
High School Credits that Middle School Students Can Take in Summer School - The only course offered in summer school for students going 6th to 7th and 7th to 8th is Touch Systems Data Entry. There is a fee to take a summer school course. Please keep in mind that summer school has a financial commitment and a time commitment. You must make plans to attend class everyday. Students going from 8th to 9th have more summer school courses available.
