CHARACTER CORNER
Character Corner Trait of the Month
January
Responsibility
The willingness to accept the consequences of your own actions and performance.
“Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.” –Anne Frank
This means:
· Being dependable; living up to your commitments and keeping your promises. · Accepting a task and doing it to the best of your ability. · Seeking help when it’s needed. · Not blaming others for your actions; not making excuses. · Practicing self-control.
**Please give Mennies Money to any student demonstrating exceptional RESPONSIBILITY in your presence during the month of January.

Words of Wisdom
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
~ Albert Einstein
It's no fun when a big mess suddenly becomes yours to fix. Or, when you are asked to do the seemingly impossible. It's only natural to want to gripe a little about it, but what is the real problem? Is it the actual task at hand, or is a negative mindset impacting the situation? It's pretty amazing what a shift in perspective can do for solving everyday difficulties. We impart so much material to our students each day, but one of the big life lessons we can share is that thinking in terms of solutions rather than obstacles can quickly turn problems into opportunities.
With something to think about . . .
Remember to take care of yourself.
Turn a troublesome situation around with the power of positive problem-solving thinking. If you don't think of it as troublesome, is it still so?
Happy Birthday!
