#wearesunflower...#wearefamily
congratulations to our 4th graders!!
get ready to welcome these new members of the Sunflower Family!
A few changes have taken place with the Sunflower teaching staff for the 2020-21 school year.
Familiar Faces in New Places
- Kristy Winter will be moving back over to the intermediate hallway to join our 3rd grade team.
New Faces at Sunflower
- Rhonda Wedel is coming over to us from Pioneer Ridge to be our Math Specialist.
- Katlin Sullins will be joining the 2nd grade team, as we will be adding a 4th section of 2nd graders.
- We are also adding a 4th section of Kindergarten because we have such a large number of new Kinders enrolled, so Ashley Bornhorst will be joining our Kindergarten team.
Sad Departures
- Becky Burton, Math Specialist, will be retiring at the conclusion of this school year. She and her husband plan to move to Wichita to be closer to the grandkids!
- Samantha Wright, 3rd grade, has decided to hang up her teacher hat to become a full-time mommy to Vossen and his new baby sister, Jules.
- Crystal Engemann, PE teacher, will be heading west on Highway 56 to teach and coach in Baldwin City next year.
To Becky, Sam, & Crystal, we are so sad to say goodbye, but so excited to hear about your new adventures!! We love you!
Yearbook Delivery
Our yearbooks have been delayed this year because their printing plant was closed during the stay-at-home order for the State of Kansas. We will keep you updated!
Wheatridge 5th Grade Transition Information (repeat)
Attention 4th grade parents, if your student will be attending Wheatridge next year (Go Mustangs!), you would have had a chance to attend a Parent Information Night during the 4th quarter.
In light of the current events, the Wheatridge administration team has put together an informational video for you!

Go Mustangs!!
We hate to see you go, but if you are moving... (repeat)
If you are planning on your child attending a different school or district next fall, please use this link to fill out our Moving Survey. This will greatly assist us in making classroom & staffing decisions for the 2020-2021 school year.
(Current 4th grade parents do not need to complete the survey.)
