End of the Year
The end of the year is upon us. If you are a Senior, please respond to the Google Form sent out by Technology. We need to know the date of your last exam to collect your computer. If you have any problems with your device let us know ASAP!
DEADLINES FOR RETURNING STUDENTS
May 13th Last day to pay technology fees for 2016-2017. This will allow you to take your computer home over the summer.
May 20th Last day to have a case on your computer. If you do not have a case, you will be given one and an invoice for $20.00.
This invoice must be paid by May 25th in order for you to take the computer home over the summer.
SUMMER USE AND CARE REMINDERS
1. Do not leave your device in the car. When temperatures outside range from 80 degrees to 100 degrees, the temperature inside a car parked in direct sunlight can quickly climb to between 130 to 172.” This will damage your machine.
2. Keep liquids and food away from your device.
3. Keep your protective, clamshell case on your device at all times.
4. Report any damage or problems immediately. Our direct line is 704-237-5377.
NEW TECHNOLOGY TEAM
Mr. Nathan Deburn was hired as a consultant and agreed to help us get our infrastructure in place. He has done an excellent job preparing, implementing, and maintaining our technology needs this year. He will continue to serve in his role until the end of the year and will be instrumental in our technology transition.
Welcome our new Team:
Mr. Brant Hyatt joins us from a charter school in Raleigh, NC as the new Director of Technology. He comes with many years experience in IT and a charter school environment.
We are also excited to announce the arrival of Becky Goddard. Mrs. Goddard's role as Instructional Technology Facilitator, will help bridge the gap between having new technology and implementing it in the classroom.
Be sure to welcome them to Pine Lake.
Airplay and Apple TV's
Apple TV's have been added to all classrooms on our campus! Teachers can use the apple TV as an interactive whiteboard, a document camera, use it to stream educational videos, and watch live news events from around the world.
Pine Lake requires that you protect your MAC with a hard shell case. You can purchase one on your own or pay an additional fee and we will provide on for you. These cases are designed to protect the device from bumps and scratches not drops. Please continue to be careful not to drop the device.
Wrap your Apple Charger
Wrapping your Apple cord tightly on the attached hooks can case stress and break it. We have discovered a better way to wrap the whole charger. 1. Take the wall cord and wrap it around the power brick. 2. Make a small loop in the cord that attaches to the MAC (this will reduce strain on on the wire. 3. With the loop in place, wrap the rest of the small cord around the attached hooks. Your charger should finish like the picture above (with the small loop of course!)
