Pine Lake Prep Technology

News and Updates May 2016

End of the Year

The end of the year is upon us. If you are a Senior, please respond to the Google Form sent out by Technology. We need to know the date of your last exam to collect your computer. If you have any problems with your device let us know ASAP!

May 13th Last day to pay technology fees for 2016-2017. This will allow you to take your computer home over the summer.

May 20th Last day to have a case on your computer. If you do not have a case, you will be given one and an invoice for $20.00.

This invoice must be paid by May 25th in order for you to take the computer home over the summer.

Please remember to take care of your Mac Book Air over the Summer. Just a few quick reminders.....

1. Do not leave your device in the car. When temperatures outside range from 80 degrees to 100 degrees, the temperature inside a car parked in direct sunlight can quickly climb to between 130 to 172.” This will damage your machine.

2. Keep liquids and food away from your device.

3. Keep your protective, clamshell case on your device at all times.

4. Report any damage or problems immediately. Our direct line is 704-237-5377.

Pine Lake has a new technology team!!

Mr. Nathan Deburn was hired as a consultant and agreed to help us get our infrastructure in place. He has done an excellent job preparing, implementing, and maintaining our technology needs this year. He will continue to serve in his role until the end of the year and will be instrumental in our technology transition.

Welcome our new Team:

Mr. Brant Hyatt joins us from a charter school in Raleigh, NC as the new Director of Technology. He comes with many years experience in IT and a charter school environment.

We are also excited to announce the arrival of Becky Goddard. Mrs. Goddard's role as Instructional Technology Facilitator, will help bridge the gap between having new technology and implementing it in the classroom.

Be sure to welcome them to Pine Lake.

Airplay and Apple TV's

Please remember that the Apple TV is for educational use. We have had a few complaints of students trying to "play" with the system while the teacher is trying to log in through airplay. You are only allowed on this system if you are given direct approval from your teacher (for presentations, etc).
