Hairy-nose wombats

The northern hairy-nosed wombat is one of the rarest Australian marsupial mammals.

The Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat scientific name is lasiorhinus krefftii.

It lives in a burrow. They eat lush green grass, long green droppings, bark, carrots, grains and lettuce. They look like pigs with brown fur and a furry brown rabbit tail. Wombats have no predators but cars and packs of wild dogs are a danger to them.

The northern hairy nosed wombat is able to survive well in the wild. It is endangered because of habitat destruction.
