Attendance is Important for School Success!
We understand that students get sick and sometimes have to miss school for important events in their lives. Please note the following from our attendance policy:
• A fever greater than 100 degrees and/or vomiting/diarrhea within the last 24 hours is excused and your student should not be in school.
• Ten absences for illness will be excused with a parent phone call. Each absence above 10 will require a doctor’s note to be excused.
• It is a good practice, any time your student is seen by the doctor to bring a note saying they were at the doctor.
• If you are unsure if your student should be in school, you are welcome to bring your student in to the nurses’ office for evaluation at the start of the school day.
• In addition, it is very important to call the Glen Lake Attendance Line (952-988-5130) or you can email us at: glattendance@hopkinsschools.org to report and explain an absence. Please do not call or email other staff to report this.
For a detailed written explanation of the Glen Lake Attendance Policy or for any questions, contact Jody, the school nurse at 952-988-5204 or email jody.mcdermott-baty@hopkinsschools.org.
