The New Kid
Temple Mathews
It's best you don't know...
Will Hunter has a secret that could ultimately end the world, and I don't mean figuratively. He's a hunter. What he hunts for though--is revenge. Revenge for his fathers capture. Revenge for Natalie Holands missing sister. Revenge drives him to do the impossible, and such things the us mere humans can only dream of. And he's only 16. As everyone around him starts "changing", its up to him and Natalie to rid the world of this unseen, mythical nightmare.
I'm warning you, its dangerous...
Will Hunter has been moving around the nation for the last three years, and is now in his fifth school in Harrisburg, Washington. When he arrives he immediately starts causing trouble, as is the only thing he knows how to do well. He meets a very attractive girl named Natalie who lost her sister to a creature in a lake. He knows what took her sister...will him telling her lead to the same fate her sister had? Will his stepfather who has abnormally toxic gas turn out to be what he think he is? All of these questions and more will be answered...if you read the book!!!
Did I enjoy this book?
This was one of the best books I've ever read. I finished all 280 pages in a matter of hours because the suspense and wondering what is going to happen next wouldn't allow me to put it down until I was finished.
Is this book part of a series?
Yes, the series is called "The New Kid." Right now there are three books...The New Kid, The Rising, and The Sword of Armageddon. I can't wait to read all of these books. I assume the books follow the same path throughout the series.
Was there a theme?
This book had multiple themes, including action, suspense, and romance. Its action and suspense because as the story moves along it gets more suspenseful with everyone who dies. It is romantic because while Will has never had a girlfriend and tries not to get involved, Natalie is slowly falling for him.
Would I recommend this book to you?
Absolutely. This book was very well written and I think that everyone would enjoy it.
This book is sci-fi and that always means its going to be interesting. If you choose to read this book I don't think you will be disappointed.
