Chris Wolshlager:Holes
Setting
"Holes" takes place at Camp Green Lake in Green Lake, Texas during modern times, to early 1900s.

Mr.Sir is a camp supervisor, as well as Mr. Pendanski.

Stanley Yelnats was accused of stealing the shoes of a basketball super-star. During his trail the judge gave him the choice of camp green lake or jail, Stanley chose camp green lake. Apon ariving at camp, stanely met "Mr. Sir" who told Stanely whe would dig a hole five feet wide, five feet deep everyday to build character. Stanely later realized he wasn't digging holes to build character, the warden was looking for something..
Mood/Tone
The mood of the story is humorous, with a bit of seriousness. The tone is ironic.
Theme
The theme is injustice because Stanely is falsely accused of stealing the shoes, Kate Barlow was not always a criminal, Stanley's great great grandfather wasn't really a "pig-stealing, good for nothing, great great grandfather".
Point of view
"Holes" is told from third person omniscient.
