Leadership is action, not position

Aimee Plette

As an instructional leader, I will lead a collaborative environment that is inclusive, equitable, and incorporates multiple pedagogical strategies. All students will have access to the resources needed to be successful for college and career, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, or orientation.

California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSEL)

Inherent in these standards is a strong commitment to cultural diversity and the use of technology as a powerful tool. A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by:

Standard One

Facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.

standard Two

Advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

Standard three

Ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.

Standard four

Collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.

Standard five

Modeling a personal code of ethics and developing professional leadership capacity.

Standard six

Understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
