Effects of Humans on Snow Leopards.
-Instead of pollution, i chose to do the effect of humans.
Habitat infringement.
The snow leopard habitat range continues to decline from human settlement and increased use of grazing space. This development increasingly fragments the historic range of the species.-(https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/snow-leopard)
Poaching.
Snow leopards,- (Panthera uncia) are traditionally hunted by the chinese for their organs, which are used in chinese medicine. Regular poachers hunt these beautiful creatures for their thick, warm fur. However, their numbers are decreasing radically with only an estimated 4,080-6,590 left in the wild world.
On the endangerment scale,
On the scale starting at "Least Concern" To "Extinct", (thereby being 5 categories between, making 7 categories,) They are the fourth category- "Endangered", Meaning that they face a high risk of endangerment in the wild.
Global warming- a side note
On a side note, the second, yet more long term effect of the endangerment of the snow leopard would be Global Warming. Impacts from climate changes alone could see an about 30% decrease in their habitat.
On a final note
Snow leopards are very close to being critically endangered, meaning they only survive in captivity... And theres no life for them there. Here are some ways you can help.
