Hurricane Coverage- Please Use Vodstock
If you're watching coverage of Hurricane Harvey today, please use VODSTOCK and do NOT stream through other websites. We are seeing network slowness due to the number of individuals streaming coverage.
Vodstock has the Weather Channel set as the primary default today. You can also watch these channels there:
- 04- FOX DFW
- 05- NBC DFW
- 08- ABC DFW
- 11- CBS DFW
- 13- PBS
- 34- ESPN
- 37- The Weather Channel
- 40- CNN
- 41- FOX News Channel
Vodstock should load in Internet Explorer (one of the only times you'll use this browser). If it is not working on your computer, please enter a HelpDesk ticket.
iPad Checkout
Before reserving iPads, you must verify that you have read and understand all of the guidelines for use. I apologize because reading through the guidelines they sound pretty strict. However, after working for years with ipads, I know that these will ensure our equipment lasts longer and that your overall experience using the iPads is a positive one.

Carts Update
If you put in a reservation before school started, please pay close attention to your reservations as they may have changed. I switched some of the labs around so that you were reserving from the general stash and not from a department.

How do students log in?
For Google applications or on a Chromebook, students use their email address as their username and their 8 digit birthday as their password.
Student email addresses are in the format firstname.lastname.###@k12.friscoisd.org where the ### are the last 3 digits of their student ID number.
All of this information is available in eschool. If you click on a student name in eSchool, the student tray will pop up. Click on the Contact tab on the left to see the student email address. The ID number and birthday are on the top of that pop up tray.
Free PowToon Accounts for Teachers!
Using YouTube
I'm going to send you more on this next week (this week's Geekly is already too long) but YouTube is the same as last year. New folks, if you plan on using YouTube for kids to watch on their own chromebooks please let me know! There are some considerations. :)
Want the pics from convocation?
You will need to create an account but you can then download any pictures you want.
And PS- if anyone took any pics of the LT Cheerleaders, could you send them my way? I would appreciate it!
Megatrax Music and Sound
We no longer use Soundzabound, but we did purchase some of the music from them that can still be used and accessed by teachers and students.
If you are on a PC, look on the W drive in the AMB folder, and then in the Soundzabound folder.
On a Mac, go to NetworkShares/HighSchool/AMB/SoundzAbound
