Important Tasks for Week Three of Virtual School April 20-24
Please ensure that you completed last weeks tasks. These include:
1. Continue to update any check-ins with 7th Period Students- if you have students/families returning your phone calls and getting in touch with you, please update the form so that we have accurate info. You can also communicate with Martha, Maidhya, and Gabby about Spanish speaking families.
2. Connect with your Pride/Department about Collaboration Structure or Plans
1. Pride Hubs- continue to discuss coordination of this shared space to use for communication of Pride info, school level info, counseling and admin announcements (such as registration, course selection, high school transition) etc.
- Week at a Glance
- Announcements/Check-ins- place for admin/counseling to disseminate info to all students
- Other ideas by Pride (organization tips, social emotional connections, emphasis on character ed, etc.)
2. Digital Citizenship- assignment through ELA or Social Studies (dependent upon Pride) to ensure all students engage in digital citizenship instruction/training.
3. We now have 88% of our students logged into their Pride Hubs. That means we still have quite a few students out there that we need to connect with. It could be that they have entered into some of your Google classrooms, but have not logged into the Pride Hubs. We have 220 out of 275 students (80%) in the 6th grade Hub, 303 out of 330 students (92%) in 7th grade Hubs, and 300 out of 329 students (91%) in the 8th grade Hub. Some of these students that are not connected are in our EL Newcomer program, and our ELD teachers are collaborating on how to encourage them to join a Hub or to see if there is another way to ensure they get important announcements and general information. Next steps include communicating with your teams so that we can start to identify who is active in the Classrooms and who is not and to see how we can best track engagement and participation. Our primary concern is making sure that our students are reconnected to us, and we're getting there!

Library and Yearbook Updates
Library Update: Students may still be receiving overdue notices from our automated library system. Please know that students will not accrue fines while school is not in session. Information about when and how to return library books, textbooks, and Chromebooks will be coming soon.
Yearbook Update: Our RMS Yearbook is complete and looks amazing! Our yearbook was completed in early March and already sent for printing. Families can still purchase the yearbook online: Purchase directly through our publisher at www.jostens.com. Make sure to enter our school information in the prompt and select "yearbook". Price: $50
As of right now, it is not clear how yearbook distribution would take place; however, families will certainly receive a copy if they make a purchase. This year, there are only a limited amount of yearbooks for sale. As of April 17, there are only about 100 yearbooks remaining for purchase.
Thank you for supporting our award-winning yearbook program and the amazing staff who have worked tirelessly to complete this year's book. If you have any questions/concerns, please contact the Yearbook Advisor Mr. Daniel Guerzon at DanielGuerzon@vistausd.org.
