Beacon to be Honored by Governor
Beacon's Commitment to Community Service to be Recognized
Be a Part of our Special Day on June 9th
"Serving to Learn, Learning to Serve" Award Presentation
Beacon has been selected as the first-ever recipient of the "Serving to Learn, Learning to Serve" Award for our efforts to instill a passion for service in our students.
From our long-time involvement in Shelterwalk and Thanksgiving food drives to the more recent efforts of our walk and community cleanup, Beacon has demonstrated a commitment to serving others. Having community service as a graduation requirement for every student is what really got the state's attention. From the Governor's press release: "Beacon's ten-hour per student requirement sends a powerful message to each student about the impact that an individual can have towards the greater good."
We are so proud of the efforts of our students and staff. Let's take the time to celebrate this accomplishment together!
