New Information

Coffee & Conversation with Dr. Jay Harris, Superintendent at Compass

Compass Families! Our new Superintendent, Dr. Jay Harris, is inviting parents and community members to join us for "Coffee & Conversation" connections in our buildings, and will be visiting Compass on Friday, October 14 from 8:45-9:45am in our Compass Cafeteria! These informal events are designed to share our District goals and listen and learn from families to improve our overall educational experience for our students. We hope you can join!

Open Positions at PCR-3

The school year has started, but we still have some openings across our District, including bus drivers, custodians, paraprofessionals, and lunch monitors. If interested in joining our team, click here to apply! Specifically at Compass Elementary, we have openings for a Lunch Monitor and Custodian.

Living Lockers

This is our third year implementing "Living Lockers"! This is where we hang a picture of your child up on his/her locker followed by a Power Word that describes them. Why do we do this? For self empowerment and a reminder of how amazing they are. The students always feel so proud to show off their words!

Please chat with your kiddo weekend and discuss what would be the perfect Power Word to describe your child! Next week we will be having those discussions in class and they will get the opportunity to pick their Power Word for the year! Below is a list of different Power Words that you can look at and discuss with your child! CLICK HERE to join in with your family as Dr. Archer reads the book One Word for Kids!

Our Pirates R.O.C.K.

To say our kiddos were excited to have our Business Partners distributing ice cream would be an understatement! Each month, students in every classroom that exhibit our Pirates R.O.C.K. Character Traits or the 8 Habits of Leadership are nominated to celebrate their leadership choices with Saint Luke's Health System, Spectrum Station, Central Bank and other nominated classmates. We can't wait to see who our leaders will be next month. We are so thankful for their partnership with our Compass family, and the students are definitely thankful for their ice cream!

Previous Information

Eglish Language Arts and Math Screener (Fastbridge) to Guide Personalized Instruction

Students in PCR-3 participate in screening in English Language Arts and Mathematics as a way to provide information related to skill acquisition in those areas. This assessment, known as FastBridge, replaces STAR, which was used in the District for quite some time. Fastbridge is a nationally normed screener and is a skills-aligned assessment that will inform instruction to best meet student learning needs. This assessment will be administered three times this school year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Our Fall window runs September 1 - September 30. Students do not need to prepare for this assessment and the results are used for informational purposes only.
