Parent Update
Did you know that showing kindness actually helps you experience positive mental and physical changes and reduces stress? It also helps boost self-esteem and creates better leaders through empathy. When we prioritize kindness in our environments, it helps kids feel safe, more confident, and better prepared to form social connections. At KRMS, being KIND is part of our daily school wide behavioral expectations. It is celebrated when seen. We make kindness a priority. We are so thankful for the kind efforts shown to KRMS students so far this year. It has been a busy few weeks here at KRMS with many exciting events coming in the next few weeks.
Halloween is Monday October 31st. Students are allowed to wear costumes. We ask that if a student comes to school dressed in costume, they make a donation of a non perishable food item or cash to be used for our Thanksgiving basket fundraiser. Please see the information below for more details about costume expectations.
Friday November 4th marks the official last day of the first quarter with the second quarter beginning on Monday November 7th. Quarter 1 Report cards will be emailed home on Friday November 11th. Here at KRMS we change our exploratory classes each quarter and we also shift the group of students that rotate to their core classes together. Both opportunities allow for students to continue to develop meaningful relationships with their classmates during their educational opportunities.
Thank you everyone for your help with the Believe Kids Fundraiser. The final numbers are in and KRMS earned a total profit of $5019.40 that will be evenly distributed amongst teams to use for student activities and trips.
Our first KRMS school dance will be held on Friday November 4th from 6:00-8:30 pm in our school gym. The cost is $5.00. See below for more information.
Our KRMS staff will be participating in our annual Turkey basket drive. With turkey donations from local sponsors, we hope to gather enough canned goods to have another successful year for some of our families dealing with food insecurity. If your family would benefit from receiving a Thanksgiving basket please complete the following link (https://forms.gle/cHbWxacNyjwEt4gdA). More information will be coming out for how to donate to this event.
The holidays can be an exciting time for many, but for some this time of year can also be stressful. If the school can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Below you will find a list of Holidays resources for families in the GWRSD community.
Parent Conferences this year are Tuesday, November 8th & Wednesday, November 9th. Please call the main office or reach out to your child's team leader to sign up for a conference if you have not done so already.
As a reminder, cell phones are NOT allowed during school hours. Cell phones should be off and away in student’s lockers for the entire day, limiting distractions and maximizing learning. Should you need to get in touch with your child, please call the main office and we would be more than happy to get a message to your child or call your child down to use our office phones. PARENTAL SUPPORT WITH THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
