Newsela
Are you looking for relevant non-fiction reading material for your students? Newsela is a website that modifies the vocabulary and syntax of news articles to match the reading levels of students. Not only does Newsela offer students high-interest news articles, but it also does something truly novel: It provides those articles at five different reading levels. Students can choose the version of the article — ranging from a second grade reading level to twelfth grade — that is right for them.
Newsela Elementary makes it easy for teachers of younger readers to find thought-provoking, engaging and educational articles that match the maturity level of their students. These articles contain no descriptions of, or references to, mature topics at any of the five reading levels. This assures that younger students with above-grade reading skills can push themselves to try the highest level of the article without encountering content that is too advanced for their age.

(This is for teachers in grades 6-12.) When you turn in your current computer, you will receive the new one. Please make sure you have everything off your current device before the last day of the school year.
For information on ways you can backup your computer, please see this link. You can also reach out to your campus InTAcT members.
