Welcome to our class, Luke!
Conversation Starters
What kinds of books do you like to read at school?
Are there some other books you might want to check out from the school or public library? (Parents, you are always welcome to jot us a note and we will try to locate books that your child is interested in!)
Word Work
We can clap out syllables of words. Hearing syllables helps us learn how to break words down into parts that can be represented with letter and letter clusters.
Writers Workshop
As Writers, we can plan our story and include details to help the reader.
Reading Workshop
As Readers, we can make the story "come to life" by sounding like the characters.
Literacy Workstations
Aiden and Kaylin practicing writing their first and last names.
Josie is reading independently.
Working on a Starfall literacy game on their Ipads.
Mason and Zakhii matching upper and lowercase letters.
Anna is pointing to the words while she and Savannah are reading!
Bryson and Vincent partner reading.
Shared Reading
We can locate patterns in our stories and notice pattern changes.
Math Workshop
As Mathematicians, we can subitize. Subitizing is the ability to instantly recognize the amount of objects without actually counting them.
Justice working on a learning game.
Aaryn and Zakhii showing us "equal to".
Aaryn and Brady have matched the numbers 0-20 to the corresponding ten frames.
Social Scientists
As Scientists, we can use our sense of sight in nature to locate objects and make scientific observations.
Josie found fungi!!!
Look who's been working on their Environmental Science Tags!
3rd Grade Book Buddies
We met our Book Buddies this week. Each Friday afternoon, Mrs. Donald's 3rd graders will come read to us!
