PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Throughout this year, we have stressed the importance of our Special Population students on our campus. Special Education, ESL and Section 504 students also deserve our complete attention when it comes to their progress or lack of progress in the classroom. At this point in the year, every teacher who has Special Education, ESL or Section 504 students in their classrooms should know if these students are on track to pass the STAAR and STAAR EOC.
If these students have not been successful in your classroom, it is CRITICAL that you review their classroom accommodation plans and ask the appropriate administrator if you are unsure of what services they should be receiving. Please remember that "Excellence For ALL" is for all students on our campus!
Have a great week and as always... It's a Great Day to be a Chieftain!

Semester Exam Exemptions
- The student maintains a 96% attendance rate through the semester.
- The student must be passing all courses for the semester.
- The student has no major discipline defined as no more than four detentions, So Saturday School, no ISS or OSS moving forward.
- The student must be free of fees and fines from the Library.
- Students who are exempt but choose to take a semester exam can only improve their grades. In this case, the semester exam cannot negatively impact the semester average.
It is the student's responsibility to maintain all qualifying criteria moving forward. Failure to do so will disqualify the student's eligibility for any exemption.
