Dolphin Pods

You may be hearing about Dolphin Pods from your child(ren). We are looking forward to kicking off this very special teacher-created program with our students this week. Dolphin Pods are groups of 13-14 students spanning kindergarten through fifth grade and will be facilitated by 40 Pod Leaders (Dryden teachers & certified staff). The Pod Leader will be a different person than your child's current classroom teacher. Students will remain with their same Pod Leader throughout their years at Dryden. Beginning this Wednesday, Dolphin Pods will meet once a month for about a half hour to participate in a variety of fun team-building, collaboration and social-emotional learning activities. Our staff wanted to bring Dolphin Pods to Dryden for the following purposes:
  • Strengthen relationships among students across grade levels
  • Increase students' positive relationships with adults at school
  • Provide leadership opportunities for students in intermediate grades
  • Strengthen students' sense of security, community and belonging
We are excited to begin this worthwhile endeavor! Please look for a note introducing your child's Pod Leader later this week!
