SVDP School

October 9, 2020 Newsletter

Hello SVDP Community,

It was great to see our 2nd graders return to campus this week. Next week we add 3rd and 4th grade cohorts to the mix.

The K-2 students have set the standard on how to be flexible and adapt their environments. Because of the success of the past two weeks, we are cautiously optimistic that we can bring the entire K-1 classes back to campus beginning Monday, October 19th. This is only relevant to Cohorts A and B. Families that have opted to stay in distance learning will continue to do so through November 13th.

Catherine Ballard said goodbye to SVDP today. She has landed her dream job to teach 9th Grade Global Studies at San Domenico High School, which is also her alma mater. We are very excited for her and wish her the best in her new endeavor.

One quick note about drop off: Please do not park in front of the church. Our 8:00AM mass attendees can no longer park in the courtyard, so we are trying to keep the white zone in front of the church open for them. Thank you!

Community Service Project

The Parent Guild invites you to participate in their Halloween community service project supporting Family House at USCF. Family House provides temporary housing at no cost to families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital. More information is available at

We are calling on all of our artists to help with Halloween cards. Be sure to look for your art assignment from Ms. Couch next week, and she will guide you with some ideas for this great project.

Once completed, on-campus students may drop their cards in the collection box located in the office and distance learners may use the collection box in the courtyard. Please submit your cards by Monday, October 19th.
