Goal for the Week: Preparing for Tech Night
On Thursday, January 21after the 6:30 p.m. our parents have been invite to your classrooms to learn about technology being used in your classrooms. Before parents are dismissed to your room, they will receive a short presentation on the district philosophy on technology usage in the classroom. The purpose of this short event is to share with parents the WHAT we are using, the process for using it. This night is not to share student work or products (open house is March 3). Please work with your teams to decide how you want to share technology with your parents. If you have any questions, please visit with Jamie, Tonya, or Lisa.
Thank you for taking time out to share the great tools you are using in your classroom with parents!

Student Voice Pilot Group
For those interested in joining the Student Voice Pilot Group, Dr. Newell is hosting a 1 hour catch-up session on January 14 from 4:15-5:15 in Mustang at PDEC. The purpose of the session is to learn how the project started, what it's about, and how you can jump into the group.
Essentially, participating involves teachers doing just three things:
1. Asking students what they think
2. Reading students' responses and using this info to improve the classroom
3. Meeting with a campus administrator at least once during the year to share what they are learning from students' voices and how that is impacting their classroom
Teachers can survey as often or seldom as they wish, and they can design their own surveys (a bank of questions is available to pick from if you wish).
Christine and Dolores are both participating in the pilot year. Please let Jamie know if you are interested in participating as well.
