Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so grateful for the strong partnership we share with STMS families, teaching and guiding our students together. Your support and trust is immeasurable. We wish you a safe and joyful Thanksgiving!

Welcome Back, Volunteers!

We are now able to welcome volunteers into our school again. If you plan to chaperone a field trip, help with the Book Fair, assist with band or choral performances, or give your time to support our school in any way, please review the Volunteer Handbook and submit this Volunteer Application and Certification of Training. We look forward to seeing you here soon!

Looking Forward to Using LOCKERS!

Beginning Monday, November 29, students will be able to use lockers again! First period teachers will have locker numbers and combinations for students, and time will be set aside to ensure all students can open their lockers successfully.

Treats for Troops

The goal set by our 8th graders was to collect 20 pounds of candy to send to our troops. They surpassed that goal by 850%, gathering 170 pounds of candy. Amazing! Thanks to all who supported this effort, and congratulations to Mr. Sitar's class for collecting the most (60 pounds of candy!), followed by Mrs. Faery's and Mrs. Saltsburg's classes.

STMS Staff Recognition

Has a staff member gone above and beyond for you or your child? Let us know so that he or she can be recognized!

From Our Counselor, Miss Everngam

Hello STMS Families! We have had a great start to our 2021 - 2022 School Year. As the year is progressing, our students will encounter various accomplishments and challenges. In order to further support families, attached is a flyer for a free virtual parent support group for families of the mid shore region through Maryland Coalition. Discussion topics include:

  • Self-care
  • Mindfulness activities
  • Anxiety coping skills
  • Benefits of journaling
  • Planful organization

Meetings will be held via Zoom on the 2nd Wednesday of every Month from 2:00PM - 3:00PM. If there is any way we can be of further assistance to you and your student(s), please do not hesitate to contact me any time at or (410) 643-3194.

Calling all "Math-letes!"

If your middle-schooler excels at math and would be interested in flexing their math muscles against students from different middle schools in our county and beyond, they should talk to their student about being part of our Mathletic department. Anyone interested should contact Ms. Berberich. The date of the first Math-lete's meeting is 12/1.

Book Fair: November 29 through December 3

The Book Fair is coming to STMS, and sponsored by our wonderful PTSA. Students will be visiting the Book Fair between Tuesday and Thursday in their ELA classes. There are lots of great selections to stock up on, so be sure your reader grabs their favorite or two! Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm, the Book Fair will be open for families to visit.

November Reading Challenge

Please join us in our first Reading Challenge for the month of November. Students should turn them in to Ms. Zimmerman by November 30, 2021. Be on the lookout for a December Reading Challenge, too! Research shows reading helps brain connectivity. More importantly, it boosts self esteem and promotes concentration, just to name a few! As we enter the time of cooler temperatures, let's embrace the opportunity to curl up with a good book. All students who turn in their challenge papers will receive a sweet treat. More details are attached. Happy reading!

*If a student needs a printed copy please contact Ms. Zimmerman,

Registration Link for COVID Testing

Please find the link to register your child for Covid-19 testing:

A FAQ was emailed to you to assist with many questions regarding the swab testing. Each school has their own link. If you have children in different QACPS schools, you will receive a link for each school as you need to register each child at their own schools.

This registration should take less than a minute to complete. You will be able to select how you would like to receive the results (either phone or email) should your child need to be tested.
