Book Fair: November 29 through December 3
The Book Fair is coming to STMS, and sponsored by our wonderful PTSA. Students will be visiting the Book Fair between Tuesday and Thursday in their ELA classes. There are lots of great selections to stock up on, so be sure your reader grabs their favorite or two! Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm, the Book Fair will be open for families to visit.
November Reading Challenge
Please join us in our first Reading Challenge for the month of November. Students should turn them in to Ms. Zimmerman by November 30, 2021. Be on the lookout for a December Reading Challenge, too! Research shows reading helps brain connectivity. More importantly, it boosts self esteem and promotes concentration, just to name a few! As we enter the time of cooler temperatures, let's embrace the opportunity to curl up with a good book. All students who turn in their challenge papers will receive a sweet treat. More details are attached. Happy reading!
*If a student needs a printed copy please contact Ms. Zimmerman, nicole.zimmerman@qacps.org.
Updates from the Health Room
** You MUST pre-register for the Rapid Covid test in order for it to be performed at school. No tests will be performed without pre-registering, with your child sent home from the health room without a test. Please, PRE-REGISTER your child at this time using the link below.
Guidance for when your student should stay home from school ~ Covid 19
Please, only send your child to a QACPS school building/activity if:

ALL students must be fever and vomit free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications per the Maryland Department of Health’s current COVID-19 guidelines.
Please, notify the school as soon as you are aware that your child has tested positive for COVID-19, or that your child has been exposed to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Please find the link to register your child for Covid-19 testing: https://schools.coquihealth.com/registration/d7ca5527-f347-49bd-8944-e930f687e6aa
A FAQ was emailed to you to assist with many questions regarding the swab testing. Each school has their own link. If you have children in different QACPS schools, you will receive a link for each school as you need to register each child at their own schools.
This registration should take less than a minute to complete. You will be able to select how you would like to receive the results (either phone or email) should your child need to be tested.
Should you have any further questions, please email our Health Services Supervisor, Michele Morrissette at michele.morrissette@qacps.org.
