Hello 4-H families and volunteers!
I am always amazed at the change in seasons, it happens so fast here in Minnesota. As the season changes so do our plans for warmer weather. We have had some amazing events this winter and there's more to come this spring. Don't forget to check out the new events below and don't hesitate to sign up. Our workshops are filling fast these days!

Let's Get Cheesy!
Next Friday is last sell date for cheese!
The annual 4-H fundraiser is here!
We are excited to kick off our annual cheese fundraiser and hope you will join us in helping raise funds for the Chisago County 4-H program. Remember, 10% of the profit earned by each club is returned to the club.
Club leaders will be handing out forms & instructions to members. Contact your club leader for more information.

Vietnamese Egg Roll Workshop
Come learn how to make something unique to eat!
Food and Nutrition Event: Vietnamese Eggrolls
When: Sunday, March 19
Time: 1:30 -3:30 pm
Where: Kost Church, 37405 Kost Trail, North Branch, MN 55056
Instructor: Sharon Anderson
Limit: 12 Youths, 3rd grade and up.
Cost: $25
Registration: 4-H Online https://4honline.com/
Youth will learn how to make traditional Vietnamese Eggrolls with dipping sauce, and leave with the knowledge, recipes, and completed eggrolls to enjoy.
Note that this is not an allergy-friendly event.
Reclaimed Wood Clover - Industrial Tech Night
Our third Industrial Tech night is coming up! This time you will be making a clover from reclaimed wood.
When: March 30th
Time: 6 pm
Cost: $25 per youth
Where: Wood Pallet Treasures, 14855 318th St, Center City, MN 55012
Limit: 20 youth - (Cloverbuds welcome to register, but must have parent present)
We will go over shop safety and expectations while working in the Pallet Shed. Participants must pay in advance to complete their reservation.
To register please email the office or call to reserve your spot.
Checks should be made out to Chisago county 4-H and mailed to the office (address at the end of the newsletter.)

Writing your future: Exploring careers in publishing
Youth in grades 6 and up.
You already love reading and writing, but how do you turn that into a career? Join us to explore a variety of careers in publishing. Guest speakers will share their career journeys, tell you about their jobs and answer your questions about turning your passion into a career.
Sessions will be held via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
The Zoom information will be sent to participants upon registration.
Cost Free
Register in 4-H Online by Feb. 24.

Super Sitters Virtual Clinic
We are excited to bring you our Super Sitters Series virtually this spring!
Our goal is for you to walk away with the knowledge to be a Super Sitter Hero!

Quilt Quest 2023
Youth in grades 4+ are invited to join us for a fun-filled quilting adventure. Participants will meet virtually, to make a quilt top using the fat quarter fizz pattern. Together we'll explore tips and techniques for quilt-making. Adult guidance is recommended unless you are an experienced sewer.
There may be supply costs: a sewing machine, needles, thread, material, etc. A supply list will be provided upon registration.
Sessions will be held via Zoom from 5 to 6 p.m. on the following Sundays: Feb. 26, March 5, March 12, March 26, April 2, April 30.
In addition to the virtual sessions, how-to videos will be available for assistance.
Registration deadline: Feb. 22.
Bowling 101 Open to K-4th graders!
March 2nd and March 14th from 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Teens, join us for an engaging morning workshop to learn about Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s)- the paid staff who support individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) to live their lives and enjoy the same opportunities and experiences as people without disabilities. DSP’s support people in whatever ways they need to enhance inclusion and independence.
This workshop will be held Saturday, February 18, from 10 a.m. - Noon at Bunker Hills Activities Center in Andover. This workshop is open to any youth in 4-H 6th grade and older from the central region. Register in 4-H Online by February 16. Special bonus- all 4-H’ers who attend will receive a $15 gift card!
We will talk about DSP’s and other professions that are available in the disability field. We will examine what your personal skills are and how they relate to jobs in the disability field. Learn more on our website!
