Sigler Elementary Monday Memo

May 20th

#SiglerNation

#SiglerNation is a family who comes together focused on one goal; the success, growth and progress of our students and school community. We accomplish this with the mindset of being happy choosing the frame we view life through as we enter the doors of Sigler Elementary. Shawn Achor, the author of “The Happiness Advantage: The 7 Principles that Fuel Success and Performance at Work” states, “If you can raise somebody's level of positivity in the present, then their brain experiences what we now call a happiness advantage, which is your brain at positive performs significantly better than at negative, neutral or stressed. Your intelligence rises, your creativity rises, your energy levels rise. In fact, we've found that every single business outcome improves.” While we do not necessarily look at Sigler as a business, we do acknowledge improvement is the equivalent to success. With that understanding, we want you to join in our theme for the 18-19 school year...“Sigler is OUR Happy Place”.

GET READY FOR 2019-2020:

If your student has a significant health concern such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, or severe allergies, please be sure to get an updated Action Plan from their doctor prior to the next 2019-2020 school year. Please turn them in along with the emergency medication before the first day of class on August 12, 2019. All required forms can be found on our website at: https://www.pisd.edu/Page/1697

Immunizations must be up to date according to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) guidelines for school entry and attendance: http://www.dshs.texas.gov/immunize/school/school-requirements.aspx

Current health information is crucial for proper care. Please enter into Parent Portal: https://www.pisd.edu/gradebook or notify the nurse.
