The National Education Association and Colorín Colorado have produced a series of classroom videos highlighting how two northern Virginia elementary schools work to meet the needs of English-language learners. Take some time to watch these videos and consider how you can use the strategies you see in your own classroom.

Three Ring for Math

PD Opportunity


The UMBC ESOL Program offers a twelve-credit post baccalaureate certificate in ESOL designed to provide experienced teachers with knowledge and skills to work with students whose first language is not English. Maryland public school teachers and paraeducators are eligible to apply for their Online ESOL PBC Program for Maryland Educators. Participants receive reduced tuition and fees for the program. All four courses are offered completely online.
