Oakley Elementary School
Arthur Pharr and his paraprofessional, Tiffany Cosby are an experienced team at Oakley Elementary in Union City, Georgia. On Wednesdays, they are joined by Perchell Hinchen and her paraprofessional, Lynetta Dula. Students have been enjoying the fitness unit through station activities (jump rope, step aerobics, plank beanbag toss game, and practicing for the Fitnessgram test) Mr. Pharr does a great job of transferring the physical education lesson into other subject areas (math & health). Ms. Hinchen keeps the learning environment positive by actively participating with her students. Want to learn more about the fitness centers? Email Mr. Pharr - pharra@fultonschools.org Have you ever tried "wavy jacks" with your students? Ask Ms. Hinchen - hinchen@fultonschools.org

Jump Rope For Heart
Does your school participate in Jump Rope for Heart? This is a great project based learning unit for physical education! I had our community representative speak with the students, and we made post cards for the children at the local hospital. This is in addition to the great things that JRFH does to enhance our program. You can also do the Hoops for Heart in the Elementary School! Please check out www.heart.org/jump or www.heart.org/hoops
