What was the change?
The change that happened was a new way of thinking about the natural world. That way was based upon careful observation and a willingness to question accepted beliefs. As these scholars replaced old assumptions with new theories ,They launched a change in European thought. A combination of discoveries and circumstances led to the scientific revolution. These discoveries opened Europeans to the possibility that there were new truths to be found.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Galileo
Was the first man to use a telescope to observe the stars and planets. First to identify the three moons of Jupiter. He used science to determine that the planets orbited the sun not earth. Galileo was the one that discovered the concepts of inertia.
Copernicus
Believed that the sun was at the center of the earth and everything revolved around the sun. His work was not published quickly because It would contradict the religious views of the scholars. Published his work in Poland in 1543.
Johannes Kepler
He verified Copernicus theory thus making science a challenge to religion in explaining the universe. Also proved that planets travel faster while they are closer to the sun and Slow down when it goes farther from the sun.
How did the change impact the society at the time?
It impacted society at the time because people thought god was the creation of everything. and he placed the earth in the center of the universe.
