LIFE IN PARIS
Henri moved to Paris in 1891 to learn artistic techniques.
He operated Académie Matisse from 1907-1911 where he instructed young and upcoming artists such as Hans Purrmann and Sarah Stein.
He was a huge contributor and leader of Fauvism (style of art) which is French for "wild beast."
Henri became a lifelong friend/rival of Pablo Picasso.
