Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- May 24, 2019
Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
Happy Friday. The school year is quickly coming to a close. We just have two weeks (eight school days) left! There is no school Monday due to Memorial Day.
The district is implementing Online Registration (OLR) for the 2019-20 school year. Students still need to complete the summer check-in process in August, but much of the information, forms, and paperwork can now be completed or updated through Infinite Campus. The OLR window is now open. When you're logged into your Infinite Campus account, the Online Registration link is on the lower left side. For more information, here is a link to help guide you through the process: https://4.files.edl.io/df46/05/16/19/155705-d6c0e58e-7cfb-4460-8312-ad6bf78903bd.pdf If you have not yet done so, please complete the Online Registration process as soon as possible; your child will not be able to participate in the summer check-in until this is done.
Have a safe, restful, and enjoyable three day weekend!

Impact of Reading
Memorial Day
As we take the day off to recognize Memorial Day Monday, we thank and honor all of the men and women who have given their lives in service.
In the words of John F. Kennedy, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter the words, but to live by them."
Showcase Career Speakers
On Thursday, May 30, 2019, Arroyo Seco will be holding its annual 8th Grade Showcase. As a component of Showcase, students will be attending a panel with speakers who work in the career field they are interested in pursuing.
We are still in need of volunteers in field such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, Arts, Filming Industry, Music Industry, Communications, Graphic Design, and Science, Technology and Engineering.
If you, or someone you know, works in one of these industries or a related field, please contact us ASAP.
In each panel, you will meet with approximately 30-35 students, in a facilitated discussion and Q&A session.
If able to provide us with your time and expertise, the schedule would be as follows:
7:45 to 9:05: Panel Discussion with Team Triumph
9:10 to 10:30: Panel Discussion with Team Viper
10:30 to 10:45: Break
10:50 to 12:10: Panel Discussion with Team Odyssey
12:10 to 12:45: Lunch, provided
12:50 to 2:10: Panel Discussion with Team Revolution
You are welcome to attend one, two, three, or all four sessions. We of course could use your help all day, but we know it's difficult to take the whole day off sometimes. Our greatest need right now is in the last two sessions.
Please contact Jesse Marshall (jwmarshall@hartdistrict.org) or Fayanne Bakoo (fbakoo@hartdistrict.org) to sign up or get more information.
