Teaching & Learning at HSMS Library Media Center
Instruction @HSMS Library:
- Mr. Simmons and Mr. French's classes came to the library for their research unit on Industrial Culture. We discussed how to use World Book Online and Easy Bib, and how to evaluate resources in a Google Search for relevancy and reliability, and how to complete their notecards and source cards.
- Mrs. Nelson's students came to the library during their unit on courage, and we discussed real world examples of plagiarism, how to take better notes using a Trash & Treasure method, and how to cite sources using parenthetical citations.
We have also had several classes come to check out library books and lots of free flow students. Individually, students have signed in to use the library a total of over 4500 times since school started. We love to see our students reading! Thank you, teachers, for encouraging our students to have a book with them and to be reading!
