One School, One Book

I hope you are still enjoying our book. We have had so many trivia winners, but this week is bonus week. If your child is a trivia winner this week, they will also win a book of their choice. Make sure you are still reading so that your child can be one of our lucky winners!!

We only have 4 weeks left before we finish our book.

Art Project for Sixty Eight Rooms

Many of our students have created art projects of Jack and Ruthie. Several of them have also created small Thorne rooms. Below are pictures of some of the art that is being displayed on our bulletin boards. If you create a project, send it to the office and we will display it for you.

We also have art supplies available if you need them.

Family Night-March 6th

We have such an awesome family night planned for you! You will not want to miss this, so mark your calendars now.

5:00-5:30-- Testing Information- Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Jennings will walk you through our Benchmark testing process and give you tips on how to help your children be successful. This will be for our 3rd and 4th grade parents. We will meet in the library.

5:30-7:00- We will have several booths set up in our gym covering literacy, technology, crafts, snacks, and so much more. This will be a free flow event, so even if you can't stay the whole time stop by and do what you can.

We will also have a room set up for Math 101-A day in their shoes. If you were not able to come to the previous meeting, this will be another chance for you to see how we teach common core math in the classroom.

Make sure you come on out....you won't regret it!

1st Grade Music Program

We will also have our 1st grade music program at the end of family night at 7:00 pm. The theme of the music program will also be Dr. Seuss. Anyone who wants to attend and see the show is welcome, but only 1st graders will be performing. Please watch for information from Mrs. Launius about this event...it will be spectacular!

ELO will meet Tuesday and Thursday each week. Make sure your students are here so that they can earn their M.A.L.L (math and literacy learning) bucks to take the the candy shop.

If you are interested in serving in a leadership position for our PTO, we will be sending nomination forms home next week. Serving on our PTO board is a great way to be involved in making decisions for our school. We would love to have you attend our meetings and help in any way that you can. Our next meeting is March 12th in the cafeteria.

If you have questions about our PTO and ways you can get involved, call the school or contact one of our current PTO board members.

Below is the new curtain PTO bought for our cafeteria. It looks WONDERFUL!
