Salmonella enteritidis
What is it
Salmonella enteritidis is a bacterium that affects the digestive system
what a person with salmonella looks like/what is going on inside their bodies
Symptoms
Diarrhea, fever, chills, abdominal pain, begins 17-72 hours after ingestion
Damage to the body- gastroenteritis, typhoid fever, developing organ infections
Prevention
don't eat raw food, make sure your meat is cooked all the way through, proper hygiene
Treatments
antibiotics, can be self-healing
Who is at risk
Everyone even children. food critics are most at risk. They go around trying a bunch of different foods and the food could not be cooked all the way through

How it is transmated
Salmonella is transmitted through raw eggs/meat. If your meat isn't cooked properly in a dish you can get salmonella also if you eat raw cookie dough and cake batter containing raw eggs.

Found in raw meats, raw eggs, unpasteurized milk. Found in animals in particular to cows, chickens, and pigs.
