6th grade TEKs and Tech

A Unique Learning Experience for Social Studies teachers

This day and a half, content-rich academy is an opportunity just for 6th grade Contemporary World teachers.

In this Academy, participants will:

  • examine social studies process skills
  • look at 2014 STAAR process skill results for your campus correlate to 21st Century Skills
  • target an upcoming unit to embed process skills into learning standards
  • learn Apple’s iWork suite and iMovie
  • design a plan for making learning visible
  • create a sustainable lesson plan ready to take back and use at the end of the session
  • be part of a Google+ community to build connections with 1:X teachers

All Contemporary World teachers are encouraged to attend to promote growth and support to one another.

When: Choose one of the two sessions:

Tuesday, April 28, 2015 8:15 am to 11:15 am or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

(teachers are encouraged to share a sub on Tuesday)

and Wednesday, April 29 8:15 am to 4:15 pm
