STEM CELLS !!!

Pardon the interruption
Hello, we are here today with the stem cell research lab in California to talk to YOU sitting at home about stem cells. I am here to shine a light on why such a small thing can make a huge impact.
Richard wilmer
First I am going to tell you a story of mine. Richard is a 18 year old man that married his high school sweat heart maria, when he found out she had cancer. She died when she turned 22 and he was 23 at the time they had one girl Debbie before she died and then at 24 years of age he was drafted into the Vietnam war. He was assigned to 4th cavalry regiment and severed one term. Then he finally got to go back home and see his little girl Debbie who is now 3. Right when he was starting to get comfortable back home he got redrafted to the war. On a mission with his cavalry a bomb went off by were he was posted and scrap metal destroyed his left leg and he was sent home on disability. He wanted to run a round with his little girl that is 4 now or go to the plays that she loves to do, but everything was harder then it should have been. We thought this could be the perfect person for our project. With the the help of stem cells we wanted to try and repair his leg. He wanted every part in our project. 17 years later he has full functions with his leg and got to walk his daughter down the isl. This is why I think stem cells are a wonderful thing.
What are stem cells?
You are probably thinking to your self what the heck is a stem cell. Well that's why I have come to this lab from Journey Inc. to tell you just that. Stem cells is the body's master cell. The reason why everyone wants to get their hands on them is because of their self renewal system. On top of that they can also make a variety of other types of cells.
Types of stem cells
Embryonic stem cells. These stem cells come from embryos.
Adult stem cells are cells found throughout the body that divide to replenish dying cells and regenerate damaged tissues.
Controversy
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the use of stem cells. More specifically embryonic stem cells. Some people have said that harvesting embryonic stem cells is like killing a baby! That is why most people are very hesitant to go through with stem cell research and projects involving them.
Potential stem cell therapies...
Despite the controversy, stem cell research can be very beneficial. Its research can lead to advances in the medical industry and help many people. Stem cell research can help people with various diseases. People with type one diabetes, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, stroke, and many more can benefit off of this research.
For just 10 cents a day you can help a person in need.
