Meet the Characters:

Final Reflection

The author wrote this book to show the complications in the lives of dysfunctional families having a happy ending. This book was about finding the key to open a door for a new opportunity, and locking up the past. It fits the title Lock and Key.

The theme of Lock and Key was all about the definition of family. Ruby had to write a report throughout the book about what family means to her. Ruby asked many people for their definitions and she found out that family means something different to everyone. Although, her conclusion was that family is the important people in your life. Family is not just people connected to you by blood but people connected by the heart.
