Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in Canada and the United States. It is a day of giving thanks for the things you have and the people who you appreciate. We celebrate it on every November 26th.Everyone loves Thanksgiving, but what if we didn't have Thanksgiving? Did you know that we almost lost Thanksgiving? Yes, it is true we almost lost Thanksgiving, but thanks to our hero Sarah Hale we didn't.
Sarah hale loved Thanksgiving ,but everyone else ignored it. That made Sarah mad so she wrote thousands of letters asking politicians to make Thanksgiving a national holiday. one by one they started to make Thanksgiving a holiday, but Sarah wanted more. She wanted everyone to celebrate it together as a family. So Sarah asked the presidents herself. President, after president, after president, but no luck..... until Abraham Lincoln was president Sarah asked him. He said yes! Finally Thanksgiving was a national Holiday!
