A Letter from our Principal, Dr. Danielle Todd

Dear Mustang Families,

As we begin November, I challenge each of you to reflect on the start of the school year and praise yourself for all the work you’ve done to support your children academically and emotionally. November is that time of year to enjoy the cool weather and gather as a community to celebrate the good things that we enjoy with a grateful heart.

In terms of academics, it signifies the start of the second quarter. Our focus this month with parents is a connection. Here are a couple of ways you can be connected to what is going on at Duello:

The first way we can come together for student success is through the TylerSIS portal. On the portal, parents and students can see grades, attendance, discipline issues, etc.

Another way that teachers have been communicating all year long about grades is through email and phone calls home. Strong communication between parents and teachers helps set a good foundation for academic growth in our students.

Please stay tuned to Instagram and Twitter for details and photos from our day to day at Duello. We are excited about our continued partnership with you all and can’t wait to see our Mustangs growth!

We are Mustangs together,

Dr. Danielle Todd

Reminders From the Duello Office

Nurse News

I REALLY love having all of our students in the building 5 days a week. To be successful at Level 1, I will be relying heavily on you, our Duello Families. Please use the guide below to determine when to keep your kids home from school. At this time there is no such thing as over-communication. Please call, or email me with any questions. I do check my email on the weekend. If you are ever unsure of what to do, this is a great resource:

One final note: Please remember to send a coat with your child when it gets colder. We will be going outside. I am unable to lend coats this year, so it is very important for students to bring one.

Counselors Corner

Time for Christmas Shoppe

During the holiday season, Duello is joining with Morning Star Church in a partnership with Morning Star's Christmas Shoppe. The Christmas Shoppe is an opportunity for our families in need to purchase gifts for their own children at deeply discounted prices. The gifts collected by Duello families and staff are donated to Christmas Shoppe and all proceeds go to the New Hope Resource Center which assists local families in need throughout the year. To support the Christmas Shoppe, we will be asking for donations of specific gift items or gift cards. We will also accept cash donations for gift cards, wrapping paper, and other wrapping items. Please plan to support this program. You will receive a letter soon with information and links to be able to make donations directly to the church for this program or students may bring donations to the school.

**Counselors will be extending invitations to register for Christmas Shoppe to Duello families based on need in the coming weeks. All participants MUST have an invitation and register in order to participate in Christmas Shoppe!! If you are in need of assistance this holiday season or have questions about this program, please contact your grade level counselor as soon as possible.
