My Energy Kit Challenge
The 7th grade students at Reading Middle School will be participating in The Resource Force on May 6 from The National Theatre for Children (sponsored by Duke Energy). In addition to getting to watch this fun, fast-paced live comedy show about electricity and energy conservation, EVERYONE at our school can request a FREE energy efficiency kit and help your school earn cash rewards (and save energy), no matter the grade level!
We call this program the My Energy Kit Challenge, and our goal is to save 10 million kilowatt-hours of energy this school year across the country. Reading Middle School will earn $250 for every 100 kit requests, and the top three energy-saving schools will be entered to win grand prizes! You can request your kit to help our schools online at www.MyEnergyKit.org or by phone at 1.855.386.9548.
OPT-IN for TEXT NOTIFICATIONS
A text message was sent out with an option to continue to receive text messages on snow days and/or emergencies from Reading Schools. Several people stated that they did not receive this text. If at any time you have opted-In to this service through another school district, you are automatically opted-in for Reading and would not have received yesterday's message. But, if you have not opted-in to the system through another district, and you and would like to receive text messages, just text a Y or YES to 67587 and you will begin receiving messages. Lastly, please make sure that all contact information is kept up to date on your student's Final Forms.
