Betsy Ross and Sacagawea
Were they important in US History?
What do some of the stories about Betsy Ross have in common with some of the stories about Sacagawea?
Sacagawea
Sacagawea used her translation skills to be very important to the history of the United States with the Lewis & Clark expedition that resulted in the Louisiana Purchase in 1803.
When the boat capsized while traveling, the navigator in charge panicked. Sacagawea remained calm and in control. She was able to save the baby and many important things for survival. She was very skilled and successful at helping others and surviving through the difficulties of life against the elements of nature.
